CLAT (COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST) 2020

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities around the country.

CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities consisting of the representative universities.

The CLAT 2020 exam will be conducted on 10 May, 2020. Registrations will open on 1 January, 2020 and remain open until 31 March, 2020.

The proposed content for CLAT 2020 was discussed in detail:

a) A general guide to question format was approved to indicate the comprehension based Test.

b) Paper setter shall always keep in mind the 12th standard level of students appearing for CLAT 2020.

c) Quantitative analysis will be based on 10th standard mathematics content.

d) There shall be 150 objective type questions.

SYLLABUS

i) English language

ii) Current affairs including general knowledge 

iii) Legal Reasoning

iv) Logical Reasoning

v) Quantitative Techniques

VI) There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for both UG & PG.

Eligibility Criteria

No age limit

45% marks in XII or its equivalent grade for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories.

40% in XII marks or equivalent for SC/ST Categories.

Admission Procedure

Written exam comprising of English including comprehension, General knowledge and Current affairs, Mathematics, Legal aptitude and Logical reasoning.
