Short Notification: The State Selection Board (SSB) Odisha has announced 555 vacancies for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) through the Odisha SSB PGT Recruitment 2023. The application process is underway and will end on 17th July 2023. Candidates with a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject and a B.Ed. degree is eligible to apply. The age limit is 21-38 years. The selection process includes a written examination and career assessment. The selected candidates will receive a salary in the range of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400. Odisha SSB PGT Eligibility

(As on as on 17th July 2023)

  • A candidate must have Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University or integrated six years Post Graduate Master’s course from Regional College of Education recognized by NCERT with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
  • A candidate must have acquired B.Ed. or equivalent Degree recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi as equivalent with B. Ed. from a recognized University / Institution.
  • B. Ed. qualification is not the mandatory eligibility criterion for the post of PGT in Anthropology, Commerce, Education, Geography, Home Science, Logic & Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, IRPM, Telugu & Urdu subjects.
  • B.Ed. qualification is the mandatory criterion for the post of PGT in Botany, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geology, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit and Zoology subjects.
  • Provided that candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, SEBC & PwD shall possess a Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University / Institution with at least 50% marks or its equivalent grade.

Odisha SSB PGT Selection Process

The selection shall be on the basis of a written test and career assessment taken together. The weightage for each of these will be as follows:

Written Test- 150

Career Assessment- 50

A) The Odisha SSB PGT Exam Pattern for the written test is as follows:

  • The written test will be conducted for a total of 150 marks.
  • There will be 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the exam.
  • Each question will carry 1.5 marks.
  • For every wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.5 marks.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.

B) The career assessment will be of 50 marks which will be calculated as per the following weightage.
